PRESENTATION OF THE INSTITUTION

Founded in 1432, the Université de Caen Normandie (UNICAEN) is one of the 10 oldest in Europe. It is home to 32,000 students, 9% of whom are international. It is a multi-disciplinary university with the following main areas of study: science, technology and health, humanities and social sciences, law, economics, management, arts, literature and languages. Its strengths lie in the quality of its student life (ranked 5th in France), and its wide range of student accommodation available (CROUS) and in the private sector. Caen is 2 hours from Paris by train and 6 hours from Portsmouth (UK) by ferry. It has several international partners and already welcomes several Indian students on its Masters and PhD programs.

Internationalisation is one of UNICAEN's strategic priorities: scientific cooperation, supervised mobility, and English-language courses (3 Masters taught in English, 4 Graduate Schools and 3 Masters Erasmus Mundus). Integration support (administrative assistance, buddy programs, welcome week, activities, etc.) and French language training (DUEF/French language courses and summer courses) are offered to international students and researchers (Euraxess Centre).
