CIDEF is the International Center for French Studies at the Catholic University of the West in Angers, a middle-size town located 1.5 hour from Paris and 1 hour from the seaside. We have been welcoming international students since 1947.
We offer language and culture training in French as a foreign language (FLE), enabling our students to acquire language skills from level A1 to level C1. We also offer a one-year preparatory course for university studies (University Diploma), enabling students who wish to enroll in a French university or school to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for success in their studies.
We are committed to supporting our students in their academic progress, but also in other aspects of life in France. That is why we have an administrative and teaching team dedicated to our different groups, so that we can offer them the support they need.
Our campus is located in the center of Angers and is therefore easy to access, which our students greatly appreciate as it allows them to participate more easily in city life (sports and cultural activities).
CIDEF also offers cultural activities and visits such as cooking classes, visits of factories and museums, as well as excursions to places of interest such as Mont Saint Michel, Loire Valley castles, etc.
