PRESENTATION OF THE INSTITUTION

CIDEF-UCO is situated in Angers, a mid-size town in Western France in the Loire Valley, 1 hour and a half from Paris and 1hour from the seaside. We have been welcoming students from all over the world since 1947. We are a university center, part of the faculty of Humanities, and we teach French and French culture, as well as methodology and disciplinary courses for students preparing to study in French universities. One of our University Diplomas, called “Preparation for academic studies”, helps students adapt to the French academic system. The disciplinary fields covered are numerous. All our teachers are faculty members and permanent teachers. They are happy to welcome students from everywhere and to help them adapt to their new environment. Our assistants are also dedicated to helping students take advantage of their experience with us.

Students enjoy French life in a small easy-walking town, can choose homestay and share the life of a family. They can visit the region and places of interest such as Mont-St-Michel, Loire Valley castles, and enjoy activities such as cooking classes, visits of factories and museums. Studying at CIDEF-UCO is an opportunity to discover the French system and French life altogether.
